Somehow, Istana opens its gate to visitors almost every major Public Holiday. But this is my first time going, since I always thought that there would be long queues in. Seems like I was wrong, or lucky! =D
Honestly, there wasn't anything fantastic about the place. Once you enter the premises, you will be greeted with vast "grasslands". "Vast" used here is based on Singapore's standard (totally can't compare to the vastness overseas).
It was quite a long walk to the main building, and the drizzle which became heavier make our journey there quite miserable. We had to buy tickets ($2 for Singaporeans and $4 for foreigners) to enter the main building, which turned out to be extremely disappointing as well. We weren't allowed to take any photos inside, and the areas which we could access were limited. I think we finished "exploring" the building in 5 mins? Very disappointing indeed.
We still managed to get some good photos despite the rain, phew. Will find time to edit those and upload them. Meanwhile, a couple of shots (unedited) from my camera.
