Neo Tiew Estate & Lim Chu Kang Jetty, Singapore
00:04:00The adventurous soul inside of me takes on the challenge at Lim Chu Kang this time round.
Neo Tiew estate
An abandoned housing estate for years now. The whole area was en-bloc in 2002, and the area is currently fenced up and used for military training.
Managed to capture this by putting my camera through the hole in the fence. I didn't enter the area, but if you are adventurous enough, it is actually quite easy to get in even though it's fenced up. If there's a will, there's a way right? =P
But be careful though when you are walking around. Otherwise you might end up like me (or rather, like my poor slipper). But it could just be my bad luck this year too.
I'm lucky to find a like-minded friend who is always willing to drive us around for such shots! =D But, if you are thinking of going via public transport, it is not impossible too! I saw buses around the area, and for this area, bus no. 975 would be able to bring you here.
Lim Chu Kang Jetty
This is yet another place I've been dying to go for the sunset! If you are driving, it's all the way at the end of Lim Chu Kang road. Again, bus no. 975 services the road here as well. You should look out for the Police Coast Guard building and that's also the bus stop that you should be getting off at.
To be honest, when we first got there (around 530pm), we both exclaimed, "that's it??" There were a lot of workers gathering on the jetty so we couldn't get a nice shot from where we were initially standing. Plus, the sun is still bright and high up in the sky. In fact, we even turned our backs and walked off, after I took some really normal shots of the place, like the 2 pictures below, which I didn't even edit.
But then it's not me to just give up like that. The workers left when we were reaching the car, and I decided to pull my friend back to give the jetty a second chance.
And see what we got!!
I thought this was super pretty! The boats were lined up prettily, the setting sun was golden and huge. And the clouds <3
We were so glad we came back :)
