If you love minimalism, if you love spaces with plenty of sunlight, you will definitely love it here.
The famous spiral staircase that garnered much attention from many avid photographers.

After taking loads of pictures here, we went to explore The Arts House at the Old Parliament, just opposite VCH. And what a surprise we got!
One of the rooms we found, with so much sunlight streaming in! All the photos looked awesome without much editing work needed.
I should have dressed up so that my pictures would appear nicer!!!!
I won't look back.
It hurts, but I guess that's not my entitlement.
Feeling adventurous, we went off the beaten track...
To explore this!
Never knew such a place existed in Singapore. Went on a bright and sunny morning so that we won't be scared! This was what we were supposed to find to start the adventure. A gap in the foliage.
After a 5-7 minute ascent, you will reach a clear path that diverges into two ways. Turn right and follow the path. In less than 10 minutes, a decaying, but undoubtedly once grand establishment will peek out from behind the rustling trees.
Even if you were to turn left, you will be treated to a somewhat looks like abandoned shed.
Pictures of the mansion!
More adventures please!

Being a big fan of the disappearing sun (because half the time I can't wake to catch the rising sun), I have countless sunset photos that I think I should consolidate and share!

I've always wanted to visit Lazarus Island, especially after seeing such beautiful pictures of it on blogs. Not much has been heard about it though, and that's really a pity. Because this is how amazing it looks!
To get to this beautiful beach with such clear waters, just hop on a ferry from Marina South Pier. It's a loop service, from Marina South Pier to St. John Island to Kusu Island and back to the pier.
We caught the ferry on a Saturday, at 12 noon. The ferry leaves quite on time, so don't be late! You can refer to the schedule of the ferries here before planning your trip. From St. John Island, there's a paved bridge that brings us to Lazarus. It is really quite straightforward to get there, and you would not need to do extensive research to know how to get there. But you do need to plan what you want to do on the islands, since there are not many facilities or amenities, and the only thing you could probably do without planning in advance is photo-taking. Just go, and snap.
There are not many people, luckily (I really hate crowds sometimes). And we were really blown away by the clear waters and clean beach! Can you believe this is Singapore????
Just let pictures do the talking.
All this pictures are uploaded straight from my camera, no edits no filters. How amazing right I know.
At least now I know, I don't always have to take a plane to see paradise.
So excited to be able to witness a major sporting event here in Singapore! But it was a huge pity that I didn't book the tickets much earlier (I totally didn't expect a huge turnout at some of the games). Spent a day at Singapore Sports Hub!
Caught 2 male basketball matches.
Didn't expect the "starting"to be so "grand".
Managed to get waterpolo tickets at the very last minute too!
Supporting SG Team felt damn awesome, as the home crowd was super enthusiastic (even though it was a thrashing game for our SG boys). Nonetheless, it was really good to see all Singaporeans coming together for the same purpose, to support our team :)
Jinhae is the cherry blossom capital of Korea. Every year between late March to early April, tons of visitors will flock here to enjoy the spectacular cherry blossoms that blanket the whole town of Jinhae. The Jinhae Gunhangje Festival will mark the start and end of this beautiful sight. I was very lucky to be able to catch it on the last day of the festival.
There are many ways to get there. But for me, since I'm a foreigner and it was a day trip, I found the KORAIL foreigner day pass to be the cheapest and fastest option.
- Bought the KR pass for 1-day use, under SAVER category (for 2-5 people) for 60,300KRW per person on the internet. It is an unlimited pass for 1-day so you can book as many rides as you like later on. (Refer to KR website for more details)
- When you reach there (Seoul Station for me), exchange the print-out from the internet booking for the actual KR pass at the information counter.
- Proceed to book your train rides at the ticketing counter.
- Take the train to Jinhae, take note that there are no straight trains to Jinhae, you will need to make a transfer and there are many transfer stations available. Choose one that fits your timing.
For me, I took the SEOUL-CHANGWON train at 0910-1210, followed by CHANGWON-JINHAE train at 1232-1254. For the return trip, I took the JINHAE-MASAN train at 2022-2056, followed by the MASAN-SEOUL train at 2118-0017.
Be sure to visit Yeojwacheon Stream and Gyeonghwa Station here. The endless canopy of cherry blossoms over these two attractions earned spots on CNNGo’s list of “50 beautiful places to visit in Korea”, and they are the two most popular cherry blossom attractions in Jinhae.
I would personally recommend not doing it as a day-trip from Seoul, as it is really tiring. Instead, it can be stop-over or a visit from Busan or nearby cities.

They have many popular items which are crazily raved about online and in news articles:
1. Shiok Maki ($16.80)
Undoubtedly the most famous dish here. It is a maki made up of avocado, unagi, salmon, topped with cheesy sauce and mayonnaise, with generous topping of tobiko.
2. Shiok Sushi ($6.00/pc)
A mouth size sushi with aburi salmon, a mini version of the shiok maki with a larger slice of salmon wrapped around the sushi.
3. Foie Gras Maki ($28.00)
Foie gras sushi roll wrapped with aburi swordfish.
4. Shiok Maki 2nd Generation ($16.80)
Crispy prawn sushi roll wrapped with aburi salmon. Crunchy and extremeley flavorful. I prefer prawn to eel and that's why I ordered this instead of the much raved about Shiok Maki. In fact I don't eat eel at all.
5. Tokyo Ramen ($8.00)
Value for money! Ramen topped with char siew, spinach, fishcake, dried seaweed, bamboo shoot, and served with home-made soy-based broth.
6. Yaki Udon ($10.00)
My must try next time! It just looks so yummy. Served hot and fresh off the teppanyaki griddle.
7. Gindara Yaki ($16)
I love cod, so this was a must-order for me. Extremely fresh and tender. Topped with mentaiko, and completed with fresh cabbage salad and garlic miso sauce.
TIPS:
If you can, go during off-peak hours. Otherwise, be prepared to queue up. I think it would be good to go in a larger group so you can order more things to try. Trust me, I wanted to order everything off the menu.
